His numbers are incorrect. Avs are offering 5.75 not 5.25.

The player most comparable to what he will bring (himself last year) made 6.5. Arbitration almost never lowers a players salary, because he is worth what he used to be making, according to at least one team, and history suggests players his age improve year to year, not regress.

Calgary said he was worth 6.5m this year with their offer sheet. Avs, by matching, agreed. Avs will be hard pressed to prove he is now worth less.

I think at the end of the day ROR would rather play else where...

As Sakic stated it was a 2 yr 10 mill contract he was coming off. 3.5 first yr, 6.5 second. That doesnt mean his next deal's starting price gets set at 6.5. 5 mill AAV on last contract.

Kreider has only had 1 good season... He only deserves 2m.. Cant expect a payday when you have not shown consistency in the past.
